AERIAL TREE DE-LIMBER/ PRUNNER
MODEL CS-2DP
PURPOSE:
To de-limb/prune 85% of the upper most branches in one pass, by means of a
saw slung on a 50 ft. long line. The CS-2DP is designed to prevent or
minimize blow-down in cut blocks, along prevailing wind exposed area edges.
The length of the long line is dependant on terrain requirements and
pilot preference.
METHOD:
The helicopter brings the CS-2DP to the top of the tree and nestles it
against the tree trunk. The
CS-2DP is gently lowered to cut the limbs off the tree until the desired
depth is achieved. The unit is
raised up the tree again to begin another pass down the tree. This is continued until the tree has been adequately treated
in accordance with the prescription for the cut block. Use of the saw blade method reduces fatigue to the aircraft
and creates a clean cut to help prevent disease to the tree.
