Canam has developed 5 sizes of light weight logging grapples.
These products are unique in that all the hydraulics and the power pack are built into the
top (head) of the grapple, making it a totally self-contained unit. the tines (jaws) are
activated from electrical power supplied by the aircraft . The tines (jaws) fold into each
other causing the load to move into the center of the grapple for easier transport.
Continuous hydraulic pressure is applied to the tines (jaws) when flying to prevent load
shifts and loss of loads. The tines are boxed steel construction for better control when
transporting loads.
SAFETY, HIGH PRODUCTION RATES AND REDUCED PERSONNEL ARE THE
REASONS FOR THE SUCCESS OF THIS SYSTEM.

* The GR-SL is a selective logging grapple for single tree harvesting and is
designed for the type of helicopter that will be used in this application. The hydraulics
and power pack can be integrated into the head of the grapple or installed on board the
helicopter with the use of hydraulic cables attached to the long line
* Grapple Configurations: Add-ons included fingerjaws for slash /
brush / log grappling. Bolt-on extenders to all models to widen
the tyne lifting capability.
*All models can be configured as total self-contained or, modular
with the power pack installed on board the helicopter for water drops.
